When we list a dog as a "Courtesy Post" we have no control over that dog's destination. Courtesy Post for Owner means we are trying to help an owner find their dog a new home. Courtesy Post for ___ Rescue means we are offering our website as an additional outlet to help that rescue get more exposure to the dog they are trying to place.
Courtesy Post for Lozja's rescuer

This is what we're told:
Looking for some help.
As a Police Chief I come across situations from time to time that I know need personal intervention. One happened several months ago.
A firefighter from another town was going through a nasty divorce had a 4 year old male German Shepherd kept
outside in a pen that was virtually neglected. He was to be "put down" as he had supposedly gone after someone who after some research by me was found to have had another dog with them at the time and quite possibly "putting their boots" to him and heavy handed. Being a past Shep. owner and having a K9 partner on the street for many years I could not let this happen.
I agreed to "rescue" this fella named Lozja this past March. After many vet visits-removed cist on elbow, minor dental work, having him fixed, ($1200) and some
obedience training he began "hiding out" with my family at our vacation home in Huron, Ohio as my own condo association would not allow dogs-which is still in my opinion unconstitutional and down right wrong...I digress!
I have found Lozja to be an awesome, well groomed, typical "special" shepherd with one disclaimer..."special" when it comes to other dogs. He is dominant and curious...go figure...and got along well with the exception of not getting much
exercise due to "laying low" in a small condo with limited room to run and play like most dogs need and staying out of view from our condo association president...mean old man... until recently!
He had one run in with hyper-female dog across the street...dog jumped on him to play...he grabbed hold and let go...neighbor called association...he had been found out. A second incident in which someone ran up on him as he was getting his food-girl was nipped.
I refuse to keep him in a cage but has been that way for several days when I am not here due to wife working and kids, we have tried to find him a home and I was informed last night that the association has demanded he has to go immediately. I do not want to take him to the
Humane Society or Vet but have to do something today...He would make the right family in the right situation with lots of play very happy...please help.
He is pure bred with papers, house broken and obedience trained. He is great indoors, all shots, microchipped, great with kids, not so great with other dogs-cats.
Fixed, comes with all records, vet reference and healthy. Needs good, loving German Shepherd experienced family ASAP, very loveable.
Lozja can only go to a home with Shepherd experience and a secure fenced in yard.
