  I (jan) LOVE This face.

Heidi's owner writes:

Heidi is a two year old female German Shepherd, spayed, current on shots and given Sentinel as a preventive measure. Heidi is also intelligent, but has a different manner about her than her sister Saphira.

Heidi is a little more laid back. She is extremely affectionate and sweet. She wags her tail and gives kisses to everyone. She loves being patted and talked to. Both dogs really enjoy the company of people, even if they are just sitting on the floor while we watch TV. Heidi knows basic commands like sit, stay, and down, along with silly stuff like jumping up her hind legs to dance with my daughter. Heidi loves attention and is very endearing. She could easily be some kind of helper or companion dog, if not a guide dog. I've occasionally thought about taking her to a program where the dogs visit people in hospitals or nursing homes.

Although Heidi is heavier than her sister, she seems more the baby of the two. Heidi's ears have always been down, and she gets ear infections which we try to control through diet- our vet told us no cheese for her. He also said the ears being down had nothing to do with the occasional infection, so we never tried to get them upright. Heidi also sleeps in a crate at night, loves rawhide chew toys, and wants to be around people. She likes to ride in the car and play with my kids. She is more obedient than curious, but is smart and responsive too. Heidi also enjoys sniffing and playing outside, and likes interacting with people.

UPDATE:

She lives with cats, but it seems when her sister Saphira barks at them and initiates "chase" Heidi joins in.  The family is not sure if Heidi would bark and chase if her sister weren't doing it.  She has been to "doggie daycare" and the dog park and does well with other dogs.
